We cannot stress enough the importance of having preventative maintenance done on your Sub-Zero refrigerator.  Manufacturers recommend at least having a condenser cleaning performed once a year, and our experience tells us that the cost of maintenance greatly ouweighs the cost of repair in this instance.  Condenser cleaning improves the efficiency of freezers and refrigerators, and failing to clean the condenser can result in leaking refrigerant and contamination of the sealed system, impairing and eventually stopping the unit's ability to function.  Sealed system repairs (when done properly) are very time consuming, labor intensive, and can be very costly. 

However,  if you are having a problem with your sub-zero refrigerator, don't dispair!  There are many issues that can impair your unit's function, and sealed system contamination is not the most common.  Even if you do have a sealed system problem, or a problem with the compressor, the cost of a sealed system repair won't approach the cost of replacing the unit.
